The tour continues at the 4th stop

4th stop: Schillerhoehe (Schiller heights): View of the city

Biberach Schillerhöhe

5th stop: Weißer Turm

The Weisse Turm was built between 1476 to 1484 on the westernmost cornerstone of the city wall by Hans Hartmann. There are two underground floors and seven aboveground which reach to the height of about 43m. (~140ft.).

The tower was attacked on September 25, 1633 by Count Johann von Aldringen. The bullet holes, which had been widened by erosion and frost, were able to be seen until 1977.

The tower was converted into a prison in 1819 for the worst of the members of the "Schwarzen Veri." Howerver, on April 7, 1820 three of them escaped.

The Weisser Turm has served as the home for the "Deutschen Pfadfindersschaft St. Georg" since 1929.

The tower was renovated in 1978 to look as it did in the 15th century.

The top floor of the Weisser Turm is one large room that takes up the entire floor space.

6th stop: Police station

Biberach Polizei
Biberach Polizeiposten innen
Don't ask me why the Police Station is on our tour…...

...but I can show you what it looks like inside.

You are now back to the starting point. Walk down the alley between the police station and Café Woodpecker. The Ratzengraben leads to the Wieland garden houses and eventually to the Buergerpark (town park). (see the above map)
Biberach Zeppelinapotheke
At this little stream, the Ratzengraben. you can enjoy looking at and feeding the ducks, but only in the winter. In the Summer it looks completely different.
Or see how beautifully a stream, trees and cement blend together
Then cross the Waldseer Strasse (Waldsee Street) and walk to the path on the right of the Zeppelin Apotheke (Zeppelin Pharmacy).
Biberach Bürgerpark Eingang
Watch out! This mini-bridge is slippery when wet. On the right topped by a dome are the Kutter-Kinos (Movie Theaters). Mini-Planetarium.
At the end of the path take a right towards Kaufhaus X (loosely translated: Big ugly brown building) And next to the small white house in the background is…...
...the entrance to the Buergerpark. The doorway is actually straight not as this picture suggests.

On to the 7th stop

Back to the beginning.
